Buck’s Landing is past the halfway point, and I am looking at post production and promotion.
In that spirit, I am asking you, friends and readers, to be the village that helps raise my manuscript up to be a full-grown novel. Yesterday, I kicked off a funding campaign at Indiegogo.
For those of you not familiar with crowdfunding, it’s really just grass roots investing. From the Indiegogo Learn site:
Everyone should have the opportunity to raise money. Now everyone does. People all over the world use our industry-leading platform to raise millions of dollars for all types of campaigns. […] At Indiegogo, creating a campaign is simple. Tell people what you are doing, how they can help and what unique perks they’ll get for becoming contributors. You keep 100% ownership of your campaign and you don’t owe us a cent until you raise money.
In order to start Buck’s Landing off right, I’m hoping to raise $1200 over the next four weeks. The funds will go firstly towards hiring my friend and colleague Roxanne Piskel to edit the manuscript, after that, they will help me to create promotional materials and kickstart a public relations plan.
In order to succeed, the campaign needs to reach as many eyes as possible, and that, friends, is where you come in. I would be beyond grateful for your help spreading the word: tweeting, sharing via facebook or Google+, pinning, Stumbling, talking about it with the guy behind you at Starbucks.
Every little bit helps.
Sharing the campaign is super easy, Indiegogo has sharing buttons right on the campaign page.
As I said to a friend earlier, you guys are why I hit publish. If I just wanted to write for myself, I’d have a huge stack of dusty journals. Thank you all for coming here and reading, for supporting every step of this journey.
